This is Irsu, a fictional bad ass, crazy dude with a legendary short fuse created at AMC Studio Ro for Creative Assembly and SEGA for Total War: PHARAOH.
My task was to convert and recreate the in-game asset for marketing purposes. This was the second character I made for the project so by now I gathered and created a lot of tools that made iterating easier. Because the final render was done in Blender I got to use a lot of its features: modeling, rigging, texturing, grooming (a LOT of grooming, actually the guy has hair under the helmet that gets flattened using geo nodes and the AO map), generating procedural geometry using geo nodes, shading and finally... rendering with Cycles. I had a blast, even more so than with Ramesses, that guy was too serious.
This amazing hub application allowed me to iterate really easy and fast in order to try different versions for the final render or follow the feedbacks given by our client.
Special credits to Creative Assembly, Ivan Yosifov - Senior 3D Character Artist for creating the in-game character.
